Dear LLFC family,
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible weekend we had at Laity Lodge Family Camp. As the Case Management Program Coordinator at Good Samaritan Community Services, I often witness the daily economic challenges faced by many of our families. It is rare for them to find the time and resources to prioritize their family due to work and financial obligations. However, this weekend at camp provided them with a much-needed opportunity to step back and be fully present in the moment.
During their time at camp, our families were able to enjoy quality time with their children and engage in fun activities that would otherwise be unaffordable. They also had the privilege of experiencing meals that were lovingly prepared for them, lifting the burden of grocery shopping and cooking. Additionally, they had the chance to connect with other parents within their community, further enhancing their support network.
Personally, I have had the privilege of attending camp three times and it never fails to touch my heart. The beautiful and meaningful moments created at Laity Lodge have a lasting impact on my clients, who rarely have access to opportunities like family camp. Our usual focus is on assisting families in crisis and providing emergency solutions to stabilize their circumstances. However, when opportunities like this arise, we carefully select our families and try our hardest to ensure that nothing holds them back from experiencing the joy and benefits of camp.
This weekend, the countless core memories were created, and I want to express my sincerest gratitude to the entire LLFC family for making this possible. The connections forged and the mission you embody truly make a difference in the lives of our families.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support for making this weekend a truly unforgettable experience for all involved.
