Summer is an amazing time of changing the lives of families, building great friendships, and doing some awesome activities, all in the beautiful Texas Hill Country! Located at the Headwaters of the Frio River (hence our site name, “Headwaters”) you’ll have the chance to engage hundreds of people to provide an atmosphere for families to connect with God and each other. Many look forward to this trip all year. Some say this is better than any trip they’ve taken. But none of that is possible without amazing people like yourself.
For a look at what a typical day looks like at camp, check out the info below!
Around mid-afternoon, all staff members gather to prepare for the exciting event of the day, families arriving! Staff members write welcome notes to each family and get into position to welcome them!
As families arrive and are greeted with music and cheering, they are assisted in the parking lot, and afterwards may play games in the field, sign up for activities, and head to dinner. After dinner, Round Up happens in the Pavilion with music & teaching & games & skits & lots of cheering! The first night often ends with Late Night Activity – S’mores!
Mid-morning everyone gathers in the Pavilion to watch a video/slideshow of the amazing memories from the past week!
As families head out of the Pavilion to load up and take off, staff line the rocks and wave, then start the famed “clean up” meeting on the Ranch House back porch. Families leave as camp gets reset, and then everyone is off!
