David was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. Before working as the Laity Lodge Sous Chef for 6 years, David was the owner and operator of Handcrafted Coffee Company, a handcrafted coffee roasting business. He has a passion for coffee, how it is prepared, served, and presented. David has provided consultation to others in their roasting and brewing businesses which helped to further develop his entrepreneurial skills. David also was the owner / operator of a café where he was everything from bookkeeper to plumber and all things in-between including baker, chef, and guest interaction leader. David loved the café and the relationships he was able to build with his regular customers. Although his café closed at 3 p.m., customers often lingered to chat or visit. He believes one of his strengths is his ability to connect with people and create conversation in non-traditional, over-the-counter ways. David noted, “I consider it a blessing to impact people and their day.”
David and his wife, Rebecca have four children and love hanging out at home with their kids, drinking coffee, and participating in church events.
